Facebook Developer's Garage - Phoenix
Terralever will be hosting the Phoenix Facebook Developer’s Garage Event on the 14th of November. Direct from the Facebook Developer Garage Wiki:
Attending or hosting a Facebook Developer Garage is an opportunity for a deep dive into Facebook Platform: it is a forum to share ideas with local developers, look for partners on your latest project, see and participate in Facebook App demonstrations, seek technical support, or just network and socialize with other developers interested in the Facebook Platform.
Are you a marketing professional looking to learn more about Facebook applications? You are also more than welcome at this event. While most of what you’ll read online about Facebook Developer Garage seems narrow-cast to developers, marketing professionals have become a fixture at these events. It just makes sense—there’s nowhere better to get a feel for what can be done on the Facebook platform (or find a developer for that matter). Facebook Developer’s Garage - PhoenixLocation: Tempe Center for the Arts Date/time: November 14th, 2007 - 6 to 9 pm Guest Speakers: Dave Morin (Facebook), Nate Warner (Red Bull) To learn more and RSVP for the event visit the Facebook Developer’s Garage Phoenix event and Group on Facebook.

Interactive Magic Trick
Not since my days of hanging out on D & D message boards have I had this much fun with magic online. Magician Criss Angel incorporates a brilliant use of viral video to accompany his website for the show Mind Freak. After submitting your friends information, a customized video and phone call will be sent to them. I won’t give away what happens, but it will definitely freak them out. What I especially liked was how the video link goes to a fake YouTube site, so what you end up seeing is totally unexpected. A small detail that goes a long way in my opinion. My only complaint is Angel trying to hypnotize me with his abs during the flash intro. I swear it didn’t work. Go here to freak someone out.

Couture Book on Fox News
This morning our friends from Couture Book were on Fox 10 News in Arizona to show how easy it is to create high-end coffee table books with your own images. If you are not familiar with Couture Books already, they are fully customizable photo albums you can create directly from their website. Terralever built the revolutionary application on couturebook.com that takes photo albums and portfolios to another level of luxury.
Couture Books are designed with high quality materials and construction, so they resemble what you would find in a museum book store. The variety of customizable options available as you go through the process of creating a book will make the finished product as unique as the pictures themselves. You truly are the art director of your own personalized photo album.
Perfect for photographers and artist to display their work, or anyone who wants to showcase their memorable events in a stunning way. Wedding photo albums, baby pictures, vacations or any special event can now be displayed in the most alluring format. As part of any purchase, Couture Book also donates to your choice of the hand-picked charities they support.
Check out the video footage from this mornings broadcast to see for yourself how amazing Couture Books are, or visit couturebook.com.

Uniqlock’s online viral performance art
What is Uniqlock? A clock, some catchy music, interpretive dance, data visualization, and a blog widget. It’s also viral advertising pay dirt for Uniqlo, the Japanese clothing retailer who created it. Launched in June, there are more than 14,000 Uniqlocks set, and the site has been viewed nearly 3.5 million times by visitors from 200 countries. Uniqlock (and Uniqlo) is better experienced than explained (go ahead, click on it). The performance art piece wasn’t what got my attention, it was the WORLD.UNIQLOCK’s data visualization piece. To get to it, go to the Uniqlock site, click on the “MENU” on the left-hand side of the screen, then select the “WORLD.UNIQLOCK” option.

Happy Birthday Google!
Today is Google’s 9th birthday, and the Google logo is sporting a cute piñata in celebration. It’s colorful and filled with goodies if you can crack the code with your link bat bait.
It’s been nearly a decade since Google changed the Internet landscape with its algorithmic determination of which web sites are most relevant to a search query. Creating new services and enhancements, Google has Yahoo, MSN and Ask struggling to maintain even a semblance of keeping up. Monopolizing the Internet, Google’s motto of “Do No Evil” is being questioned, and I’m reminded that “Absolute power corrupts – absolutely.” Privacy issues abound to the point that Big Brother looms. Google can see the cat in my window, a Chinese submarine that the military couldn’t locate, and way too much of my personal information, which is happily revealed to anyone who chooses to google me look me up. They are even trying to control the way I use the Google name in private conversations and blogs. Will Google cross over to the dark side, or will they be a force for good?
